11-Year Limited Care & Diamond Protection Warranty
Care That Continues Long After the Ring Is Delivered
A meaningful ring should remain beautiful, secure, and wearable for years to come.
Eligible engagement rings and wedding rings purchased directly from Winnipeg Engagement Rings include an 11-Year Limited Care & Diamond Protection Warranty provided by Pear Diamonds & Co. Ltd.
The warranty includes scheduled care services, limited stone-loss protection, and review of eligible manufacturing defects, subject to annual inspections, eligibility requirements, exclusions, and the complete terms below.
This warranty is not jewelry insurance. Insurance remains recommended for theft, disappearance, major accidental damage, travel loss, and loss of the entire ring.

Eligible rings may receive:
- One covered care service event during each 12-month warranty period
- Professional inspection and cleaning
- Stone-security checks
- Eligible prong or claw tightening
- Eligible minor prong or claw re-tipping
- Rhodium plating for eligible white-gold rings
- Eligible resizing
- One eligible lab-grown centre-diamond loss claim during the full 11-year term
- One eligible small-stone service claim during each 23-month period

Annual inspections are required to maintain eligibility for care and stone-loss coverage.
Warranty Term
The warranty remains in effect for 11 years beginning on the date the ring is:
- Delivered;
- Picked up; or
- Otherwise placed in the client’s possession.
The warranty does not renew, restart, or extend following a repair, resize, service, replacement, or stone-loss claim.
The warranty terms in effect on the original purchase date will continue to apply to that ring unless Pear Diamonds & Co. Ltd. agrees otherwise in writing.
Eligible Rings
The warranty applies only to eligible engagement rings and wedding rings purchased directly from Pear Diamonds & Co. Ltd. through Winnipeg Engagement Rings.
Coverage applies only to:
- The original purchaser; and/or
- The named recipient recorded in the original order documentation.
The warranty is not transferable unless Pear Diamonds & Co. Ltd. confirms the transfer in writing.
Certain products, stones, designs, materials, or services may be excluded where stated in the original invoice, order documentation, or warranty information.
Annual Care Coverage
One Covered Service Event Every 12 Months
During each 12-month period of the warranty term, the client is eligible for one covered care service event.
A covered care service event may include services that Pear Diamonds & Co. Ltd. determines are applicable and reasonably required, such as:
- Professional inspection
- Professional cleaning
- Stone-security examination
- Prong or claw tightening
- Minor prong or claw re-tipping
- Rhodium plating for eligible white-gold rings
- An eligible ring resize
Not every service is automatically performed during every care event. The services provided will depend on the ring’s condition, design, materials, and service requirements.
Unused service events:
- Do not carry forward;
- Cannot be combined;
- Have no cash value; and
- Cannot be exchanged for discounts, refunds, credits, upgrades, or other services.
Diamond and Stone-Loss Protection
Lab-Grown Centre-Diamond Coverage
The warranty covers one eligible loss of the original lab-grown centre diamond during the entire 11-year warranty term.
This coverage applies only where:
- The original centre diamond was lab-grown;
- The centre diamond was supplied by Pear Diamonds & Co. Ltd.;
- The ring remained eligible under the warranty;
- Annual inspections were completed as required; and
- Pear Diamonds & Co. Ltd. determines that the loss occurred from the setting during ordinary wear.
Once an approved lab-grown centre-diamond claim has been completed, no additional centre-diamond loss claims will be covered during the remaining warranty term.
Replacement diamond
The replacement centre diamond will:
- Be selected by Pear Diamonds & Co. Ltd.;
- Be of comparable type, shape, size, colour, clarity, and overall specification;
- Be based on the original order documentation; and
- Remain subject to reasonable market availability.
Centre-diamond coverage does not provide:
- A cash payment;
- A refund;
- Store credit;
- An upgrade;
- A higher-value diamond; or
- Compensation based on appraisal or sentimental value.
Natural centre diamonds
Natural centre diamonds are not covered for centre-stone loss under this warranty unless Pear Diamonds & Co. Ltd. expressly agrees otherwise in writing.
Clients with natural centre diamonds should maintain appropriate jewelry insurance.
Small Stones, Accent Diamonds, and Gemstones
Pear Diamonds & Co. Ltd. will cover one eligible small-stone service claim during each 23-month period of the warranty term.
Small stones may include:
- Lab-grown melee diamonds;
- Natural melee diamonds;
- Accent diamonds;
- Side stones under 0.40 carat;
- Small gemstones; and
- Other eligible small stones originally supplied and set by Pear Diamonds & Co. Ltd.
If multiple eligible small stones are repaired or replaced during the same approved service event, the entire event counts as the one covered small-stone claim for that 23-month period.
Unused claims:
- Do not carry forward;
- Cannot be accumulated;
- Have no cash value; and
- Cannot be exchanged for refunds, credits, discounts, or upgrades.
Replacement stones will be selected by Pear Diamonds & Co. Ltd. and will be reasonably comparable in type, shape, size, colour, clarity, and appearance, based on the original order documentation and availability.
Annual Inspection Requirement
The ring must be inspected by Pear Diamonds & Co. Ltd. at least once every 12 months to remain eligible for:
- Annual care coverage;
- Centre-diamond loss protection; and
- Small-stone loss protection.
Pear Diamonds & Co. Ltd. may require proof of inspection before approving a warranty service or claim.
If an inspection is missed:
- Coverage may be suspended until the ring is inspected;
- The ring must be confirmed to be in serviceable condition before coverage resumes; and
- Damage, looseness, worn prongs, structural weakness, or stone loss arising during the missed inspection period may be excluded.
An inspection does not guarantee that damage or stone loss cannot occur after the inspection. Rings remain subject to ordinary wear and should be examined by the client regularly.
Manufacturing Defects
Pear Diamonds & Co. Ltd. will review alleged manufacturing defects reported during the warranty term.
A manufacturing defect is an issue caused by the original manufacturing or assembly of the ring, rather than ordinary wear, accidental damage, misuse, alteration, or third-party work.
Where Pear Diamonds & Co. Ltd. determines that an eligible manufacturing defect exists, it may provide an appropriate remedy, including:
- Repairing the ring;
- Replacing the affected component; or
- Providing another reasonable remedy appropriate to the circumstances.
The method of service or repair will be determined by Pear Diamonds & Co. Ltd.
Warranty service may be completed by:
- Pear Diamonds & Co. Ltd.;
- A manufacturing partner; or
- Another qualified service provider selected by Pear Diamonds & Co. Ltd.
Resizing
One reasonable resize may be included as part of an eligible annual care service event.
Resizing is subject to the design, structure, material, stone placement, and condition of the ring.
Some rings may have limited resizing ability or may not be safely resized, including rings with:
- Eternity-style stone settings;
- Extensive pavé or stone placement;
- Tension-style settings;
- Detailed engraving;
- Structural design limitations; or
- Significant previous sizing work.
Pear Diamonds & Co. Ltd. may decline a resize where the work could compromise the ring.
Where resizing would require a remake, redesign, substantial reconstruction, additional materials, or work outside the warranty coverage, a separate quote may be provided.
Rhodium Plating
Eligible white-gold rings may receive rhodium plating as part of a covered annual care service event.
Rhodium plating is a maintenance treatment and is not permanent.
The rate at which rhodium plating wears depends on factors including:
- Frequency of wear;
- Lifestyle and activity;
- Skin chemistry;
- Exposure to chemicals;
- Cleaning habits; and
- Contact with hard or abrasive surfaces.
Ordinary rhodium wear is not a manufacturing defect.
Conditions for Stone-Loss Coverage
Stone-loss coverage applies only where Pear Diamonds & Co. Ltd. determines that:
- The stone was originally supplied and set by Pear Diamonds & Co. Ltd.;
- The stone was lost from the ring setting;
- The loss occurred during ordinary wear;
- The ring was properly maintained;
- Required inspections were completed;
- The ring had not been altered by an unauthorized third party; and
- The claim is otherwise eligible under the warranty.
Pear Diamonds & Co. Ltd. may require:
- Inspection records;
- Photographs or video;
- Service history;
- Original order documentation;
- A description of the incident; and
- Physical inspection of the ring.
Coverage may be denied where the loss or damage resulted from misuse, impact, bending, crushing, improper care, chemical exposure, missed inspections, third-party work, alteration, or continued wear after visible damage or looseness.
What Is Not Covered
The warranty does not cover:
- Loss or theft of the entire ring
- Mysterious disappearance of the entire ring
- Intentional damage, misuse, neglect, or abuse
- Damage caused by heavy impact, crushing, bending, or abnormal force
- Damage caused during sports, gym activity, swimming, construction, moving, lifting, manual labour, or similar high-risk activities
- Damage caused by pools, hot tubs, cleaning products, harsh chemicals, abrasives, or improper storage
- Damage caused by another jeweller, repair shop, or third party without prior written approval
- Loss or damage involving client-supplied stones, unless expressly covered in writing
- Redesign, restyling, upgrading, or changing the original design
- Major structural damage caused by accident, misuse, impact, or improper care
- Normal cosmetic wear that does not affect the ring’s structure or stone security
- Scratches, dents, surface wear, or gradual finish changes associated with ordinary use
- Changes in appraisal value, market value, resale value, investment value, or sentimental value
- Damage or loss that cannot reasonably be inspected, verified, or connected to the original ring
- Claims that are fraudulent, unreasonable, unverifiable, or outside the stated warranty coverage
Loss or theft of the complete ring is never covered by this warranty.
Third-Party Repairs and Alterations
The warranty may be voided or restricted where the ring has been:
- Repaired;
- Resized;
- Modified;
- Altered;
- Reset;
- Refinished; or
- Otherwise worked on
by another jeweller or service provider without prior written approval from Pear Diamonds & Co. Ltd.
This exclusion applies because third-party work may affect the ring’s structure, stone security, finish, or original specifications.
Contact Winnipeg Engagement Rings before authorizing any outside work.
Client Care Responsibilities
To maintain eligibility and reduce the risk of damage, clients should:
- Attend the required annual inspections;
- Remove the ring during exercise, sports, swimming, sleeping, cleaning, lifting, or manual work;
- Avoid harsh chemicals, pools, hot tubs, abrasives, and heavy impact;
- Store the ring securely when it is not being worn;
- Regularly check for unusual movement, bending, or looseness;
- Stop wearing the ring immediately if a stone feels loose or a prong appears damaged; and
- Contact Winnipeg Engagement Rings promptly if the ring appears damaged or compromised.
Continued wear after visible damage, looseness, bending, or another structural concern may result in denial of coverage for the related issue.

Pear Diamonds & Co. Ltd. may require physical inspection of the ring before approving coverage.
A warranty claim or service request is not approved until Pear Diamonds & Co. Ltd. confirms approval in writing.

Do not ship a ring for warranty service without first contacting Winnipeg Engagement Rings.
Where shipping is authorized, the ring must be sent using a:
- Tracked;
- Insured; and
- Signature-required
shipping method approved by Pear Diamonds & Co. Ltd.
Shipping instructions, costs, responsibility, and return arrangements will be communicated for the specific service request.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Pear Diamonds & Co. Ltd. is not responsible for loss or damage occurring during shipping arranged independently by the client or contrary to the provided instructions.
Warranty Remedies and Limits
Warranty coverage is limited to the repair, service, or replacement expressly described in these terms.
The warranty does not provide:
- Cash reimbursement;
- A purchase-price refund;
- Compensation for inconvenience;
- Compensation for loss of use;
- Compensation for sentimental value;
- Compensation based on appraisal value; or
- Indirect or consequential damages.
Pear Diamonds & Co. Ltd. may refuse a claim that:
- Falls outside the warranty terms;
- Cannot reasonably be verified;
- Is inconsistent with the ring’s condition;
- Lacks required documentation; or
- Results from an excluded cause.
Nothing in these terms limits any right or remedy that cannot lawfully be waived under applicable law.
Jewelry Insurance
This warranty is not a substitute for jewelry insurance.
Clients are strongly encouraged to maintain insurance covering:
- Theft;
- Loss of the complete ring;
- Mysterious disappearance;
- Major accidental damage;
- Travel loss;
- Fire or property loss; and
- Other risks not covered by this warranty.
Any appraisal provided or arranged by Pear Diamonds & Co. Ltd. is intended for insurance purposes only.
An appraisal does not represent or guarantee:
- Resale value;
- Liquidation value;
- Investment value;
- Future market value; or
- A guaranteed replacement amount.
Governing Terms
This warranty is governed by the laws of Manitoba and the applicable laws of Canada.
It is provided in addition to any rights or remedies available under applicable law.
Nothing in this warranty is intended to exclude, limit, or replace any consumer-protection, sale-of-goods, or other legal right that cannot lawfully be waived.
Pear Diamonds & Co. Ltd. may update the warranty offered with future purchases. Any update will not alter the warranty terms applicable to a prior purchase unless agreed to in writing.
